Dizzy da ToonCat's Construction pages!

Things were beginning to get a little cluttered, and I wanted to rearrange things a bit now that Dizzy is (mostly) finished. Past appearances (with photos) can be found on the DizzyCat's appearances page. Don't expect /this/ page to change much, but if you'd like to see a couple of construction pics for a really simple costume, keep on scrolling.

I'll update this page if I make any enhancements to the DizzyCat costume (I plan some minor tweaks to the bodysuit and feet), but for the most part it's done. I consider it 'done' because it's now at the point that it is more fun to wear than it is to work on, and becuase I've got new projects that I want to try my paw at. No details here on that, because it's new territory for me.. no need to hype it up if I really screw up the execution, eh? ;)

After the disaster that was Cinereg Puma, I wanted to build something that was fun to wear, easy to breath in, and generally toony. With the help of Chairo, I grabbed a block of foam from Bob's foam a few weeks back and began the carving process.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any in-process photos, but I do have some fairly recent pictures of the (near) final carved head! I finished the bulk of the carving back on the 24th of February, but have been kinda lazy/distracted in getting the fur on.. I completed a bit of the furring process this weekend, but it looks like a burn victim with large hunks of loose fur just hanging off. I'll get some furred pics posted as soon as they're available.

These pictures are a little bit behind the times, as I've got the (HUGE!) ears on, and *some* of the fur. I really need to get cracking, as I want to debut the kittycat at CF12.. I'm already behind schedule, even counting my 'slide days', so I don't know if that'll happen... but I'm still gonna try, damnit! *grin*

Okay, this was a terribly lazy week for me, but I did get photos of my progress scanned in. The head is /almost/ complete, but is still waiting for the addition of a few details here and there. I haven't begun the bodysuit yet.. and I really should have, if I'm to have any hope of making CF12. Ah well.. I suppose it will make its public debut at AC, but you, lucky webviewer, get the sneak preview! Photos of the head construction follow.

I haven't done an update for a little while, and don't have any pictures to show at the moment.. not much progress to report at this time, other than the creation of a couple of tounges for Dizkitty (one extra-long slurpin' tounge and one 'regular' length), and a bit of progress on the gloves. My hopes to get a suit completed by CF just didn't pan out, but that's not any great worry.. the weekends have been pretty hectic. I'll just have something ready for AC and some of the local events.. just need to get that bodysuit finished! Heck, I just need to get it started, for that matter.

About the tounge: bright red velvet, it has sort of a 'wet' look, and I'll have multiple spares that can be attached in the mouth via a velcro strip. That way I can select the long dangling tounge for venues that I wanna look extra silly, or the shorter one for places that I would have to worry about having it yanked out by 'playful' hands. Pictures will be up as soon as I have 'em... perhaps next weekend.

Plenty of progress to report! It's looking more like a full fursuit now, as I have nearly completed the bodysuit and gloves. I'm very happy with how this one is turning out, even if I wasn't able to make it to CF. The Mountainview parade is next weekend.. will it be ready? Erm... if I go tailless and can come up with some sort of feet by then, sure. :) Almost done.. almost done...

I haven't made many updates lately, so I thought I'd just scribble something to give the state of dizzy's world. I've been REALLY busy lately, doing a bit of everything on every weekend, up to moving last weekend. My stuff is still a mess and awaits a proper unpacking, so I don't think I'll be actually finishing DizzyCat any time soon. Argh!

I did get a chance to debut the big purple critter at the Mountain View Spring Parade along with Critters by the Bay. Good ol' Penh as poured a LOT more energy, time and talent into the CBTB pages than I have put into these. Go take a peek!

Things have been damned crazy lately. I've finally finished moving into the new closet.. er.. place, and am now getting bombarded by stuff from my 'real job', so my spare time has seriously been lacking. I did actually have a couple of moments to work on my feet this weekend.. finally.. augh. The DizzyCat now has fuzzy blue toes, with bare foam feet. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish the last bits on my trip down to L.A. next weekend.. assuming I don't get caught at work.
